Silk Portrait Eye Mask X Louise Bourgeois
Inspired by the visionary artist Louise Bourgeois, this luxurious silk eye mask is both a functional accessory and a poetic homage to her lifelong reflections on sleep, trust, and peace. Created by Third Drawer Down Studio founder Abigail Crompton, the design honors Bourgeois—an insomniac for much of her life—who once described sleep as “paradise.”
The reversible mask features a pattern inspired by one of Bourgeois’ 2003 fabric drawings, reflecting her deep connection to textiles, sewing, and fashion. Across the strap, the embroidered phrase “Key to insomnia: peace or trust” echoes the artist’s own words from her mid-1990s Insomnia drawings, which she created during sleepless nights in search of rest.
A beautiful blend of art and comfort, this piece invites a moment of stillness—an ode to creativity, vulnerability, and the elusive peace of sleep.
